Class Arts Education at the Head Of The Class!
Elmwood Elementary School instructors have been showing, on a daily basis, how to include the arts in their lessons, while improving test scores. Their mission to infuse the arts across the curriculum is being modeled for other k8 schools across the district. SUSD arts advocates support Elmwood’s belief that the arts contribute not only to a student’s better academic performance, but also contribute to a more disciplined, creative, and expressive individual. Principal John Semillo, teachers, and students have taken on the challenge to show, not say, the arts are a core subject; not an add on subject for free time. We all benefit from their hard work and example, as they benefit from the arts. Keep up the good work!
